129th Assembly Candidate Running To End State-Sponsored Standardized Tests and Curriculum
August 19, 2014- Syracuse, NY- Rick Zaccaria, the Republican and Conservative candidate for the 129th Assembly District, today submitted his petitions for the “Stop Common Core” party line in this year’s upcoming election. Zaccaria, a staunch opponent of the mandated Common Core system, sees this party line as the first step in bringing the concerns of parents, children and educators to the forefront and ending the current failed standards and curriculums that are wreaking havoc on our current education system.
“I’ve met with residents all across the 129th District and I’ve heard time and again, Common Core isn’t working. The current 8 term incumbent isn’t listening to the people he is supposed to represent and is on record as repeatedly supporting Common Core,” said Zaccaria, “Listen, if something is broken and not working you don’t just throw more money at it and pretend that it is. The people of my district, and all across New York, want an education system that helps our children, not one that hinders them. Thus far, I’m the only candidate in this race that wants to put a stop to these failed standards and curricula and find a real solution to help our kids and teachers.”
According to Zaccaria, “The petitions I’ve submitted today are absolute proof that our residents want their Assembly representative to put an end to the failed Common Core program, not support it. As your next Assemblyman, I will make sure that message is heard loud and clear in Albany.”
A lifelong resident of Central New York, Rick Zaccaria’s focus is on bringing honor, integrity and openness back to State government and actually representing all the people of the 129th district. Rick is a successful local businessman with an innate sense for business growth and development.
